Edge trim shrinks the cut-out by a pixel or two to remove the faint halo that soft edges like hair can leave behind.
Download a PNG to keep transparency, or a JPG for a smaller file once you have picked a solid background.
The model loads once (a few megabytes) the first time you use it, then runs offline in your browser. Fine detail such as loose hair or transparent objects may need a little manual touch-up.

Can I get a transparent PNG?
Yes. Leave the background set to Transparent and download as PNG — the transparency is preserved, so you can drop the cut-out onto any design. JPG cannot store transparency, so choose a solid colour if you want a JPG.
Does it work for products and logos, not just people?
Yes. The model handles people, products, pets and logos. For product shots, turn on “Crop to subject” to trim the empty space around the cut-out.
Can I use this for a passport photo?
For a visa or ID photo, use the Passport Photo Maker instead — it removes the background and also crops to the exact photo size (35×45 mm and others) required by the authority.
