Calculate VAT
How VAT works in the GCC
Add VAT to a net price, or work out the VAT inside a tax-inclusive price, using each Gulf country’s current rate.
VAT rates differ across the GCC: the UAE and Oman charge 5%, Bahrain 10%, and Saudi Arabia 15%. Qatar and Kuwait have not introduced VAT yet (0%).
“Add VAT” takes a price before tax and adds the rate; “Remove VAT” works backwards from a tax-inclusive price to find the net amount and the VAT inside it.
From a gross price: VAT = gross − gross ÷ (1 + rate). From a net price: VAT = net × rate.
Choose “Custom rate” to model any other percentage.
These are the standard GCC VAT rates; some goods and services are zero-rated or exempt. Check the official tax authority for specifics.
